SUPER HERO

Super Hero time...Well as you know its been Birthday week here for my little family and the fun is not over yet. I used to make a BIG deal of the birthday party pre-school days. It would be a weekend event with our friends and their children, lots of foods and drink and always with a theme, Knights and Princesses, Pirates and Space Travel. The kids loved it and the parents, well just got tiddly until they ended up in the...castle/ship/rocket. But with the onset of school, time is a little pressing. So we have started to go away for the Birthdays. I feel guilty that my youngest has not really been part of this party thing, so I am holding a small party for him on Tuesday. Its a Super Hero Party. So Mommy has been on the sewing machine... This little cape has not been off his back, he loves it and he really thinks he can Fly (which is slightly worrying). On the day he is wearing it with his Superman PJ's. So yesterday he was flying around the house most of the day but even Super Hero's need to rest...
That's one tired out Super Hero. Note the slippers, how cute are they? They set of the outfit to perfection.
Month of Moo, my little collection of happy Moos sitting by the fire to warm themselves up.

Topping up the Stash!!!

Over the weekend, I eventually made to it to a mill ( I have wanted to go here for almost four years)that stocks all sorts of fabric and crafty goodies. My guest was just fab, he took my oldest off for some milk and cookies and told me to take all the time I liked...How could I resist, all that lovely fabric, a lot I had not seen before. So I thought , well I just have to make the most of this as it is such a luxury to shop without the children, my youngest was having a nap. Obviously I was aware not to push the kind act and made my mind up to only look in the fabric area...
In honour of the Month of Moo, I bought this cute fabric, this was so expensive I only bought a small amount. I love the matching fat quarter, much more reasonable in price. I plan to use this on the goodie bags for my sons birthday party...more to be revealed later in the week.

This is not my cup of tea at all. It was in the bargain bucket (no surprise there) but I plan to make some pencil wraps for the boys birthdays so this will be just great...
Mmmm...another one for the boys...
This one is JUST for Mommy. I so fell in love with this I wanted to buy all of it, I restrained and bought enough of the background fabric for a top I want to make for myself. The others are a fat quarter pack just because I loved them so much.

Later that day whilst talking to my son, he told me that the best part of the day was sitting talking to our guest when he was treated to his snack. I thought that this was the sweetest thing. All the gifts we give and provide but at the end of the day the best gift we can give our children is our time.

Knitting update:The top I am knitting for myself is coming along well despite not having much knitting time, I am on the last sleeve (started last night whilst curled up in bed, still feeling a bit sorry for myself, watching ER) so its just the neck to get to grips with then its done.

Roses and Moos

Well its a flowery sort of day today. I am a bit of a flower child, most of my clothes have flowers on or at least bright colours and I like to have a bunch of flowers in the house. But today's vase was a special treat. We have a guest for the weekend, an old friend from Oxford (UK). So in honour of his visit I bought an extra special bunch of roses for the kitchen table. I also have a HUGE bucket full of flowers by the back door awaiting to go in the car. Its my turn to do flowers in our Church, so I have gone for the same colouring, lots of yellow, orange, white and a touch of red. Spring is so on the mind, especially as I have some super smiley sunflowers to go in it. OK, a visitor for the weekend...HELP, I need to go and tidy up, all that fluff (see previous post) is taking over, I have a heap of cleaning to do so I shall go and get busy, I am looking forward to next week as it is not such a busy one and hopefully I can return to my knitting and other craft related goodness.
I leave you with today's MOO! This is actually my latest addition to my collection. I spotted it whilst out thrifting, its BLUE COW! Unless you watch the kids telly this will mean nothing, take it from me its a cute story character about a cow that does things that, well, cows just can not do...Have a VERY good weekend everyone.
P.S. Weird dream last night I dreamt I gave birth to my third babe, it was the easiest birth known to man-well woman actually, I think I am hearing my body clock ticking VERY loudly at the moment.

March Moo Month

March Moo Month? OK March is a special month for me, my babes are both March born, its the start of spring, Lighter evenings and you start to feel a bit of warmth from the sun-when it shines! So its a special. To celebrate this I am going to post a Moo a day. Moo being my little child's name for cow. I have a soft spot for Moo's, always have had and I have passed it down to my kids. So after the Chinese New Year 'The year of...'I thought I would make March The Month of the Cow (or Moo). So you are going to be treated (or subjected to depending on your opinion) to a picture a post of my Moo collection. Yep you are right, you might have had an idea but you can now confirm I am slightly potty!
