REEPICHEEP

Happy World Book day. All the kids in our local school had different outfits on and there was an air of excitement that was quite contagious at the school gate. So its been taking up most of my thought and time for the last forty eight hours. So I now share with you the process.
From humble beginnings...a soft fleecy blanket, it gets cut up...
There is FLUFF on the kitchen floor, all over the table, in the fruit bowl embedded into my beloved sewing machine (Note to self: remember to clean machine!) and of course all over me...
Several hours later, and all the hand sewing finished whilst watching Desperate Housewives at 11.30pm last night its done. Now I had a giggle, mouses tails are pink, right? Well I had bought some pink felt for this, cut, sewed it up and stuffed it. Well if you think this picture could look a bit rude you should have seen the pink tail...need I say more. SO I chopped it off (as is fitting for the story of Reepicheep in Narnia) and made a cream one, a mouse has to have his tail but there are boundaries. I am pleased with the result as I used the poncho I bought from the charity shop that took a couple of go's but eventually felted...
So I introduce you to Reepicheep, he is a handsome mouse...
SO you get the full benefit, here is the tail end...
Enjoy World Book Day, Kids love books.

Great excitment at our school too this morning. My daughter has gone as Rose Tyler from Dr Who, so no opportunity for me to get the machine out for a costume!

Well done you - it looks really great, and so nice to see a boy wanting to be something other than a power ranger/monster etc etc !

That is just a wonderful job you did. My youngest kindergarten class did a costume day from their favorite Fairy Tale story.
