Not a lot got done this weekend, but do not get me wrong, it was a good weekend. On Sunday I spent most of my day being snuggled up with my babes especially the littlest one as the wind and rain continued to attack the area...We did a bit of this...
Why...Mommy had the day sewing on Saturday and had a rare day away from the children...well they missed their Mommy and Mommy missed her babes so the next day my cuddle tank got filled to over flowing...
I did have a good day sewing I spent the day working on some basic blocks, I worked on three in all and just need a little time now to finish them off so they can join the pile for my next quilt...
So at the start of the week its been an exciting day, mostly filled with water...lots of water...I am surrounded by floods, the school evacuated some of the the children for fear of the roads becoming to flooded to use. I drove past a house I love in the village and have enjoyed watching the convertion from a derelict barn to a lovely family home, as the water rushed over all the sand bags straight into the front door, such sadness...
The Suzie Sews household is actually quite safe at the moment as we are on a hill, so after all the excitement, the children asleep, the house is tidy...its time to relax and I will worry about tomorrow when it comes...for now though its a glass of wine and a bowl of cherries!

I love that Amy Butler lacy fabric. Lovely!
We, too, are surrounded by water, but ours is of the snowy variety. We got like 4-6 inches today and 5.5 the other day and it's been pretty cold, but at least the house isn't flooded!
I am glad you are safe!
I love the color combination of the blocks you did, by the way. Very striking.
A glass of wine and cherries sounds sooooo good right now.
Sounds like you had a super fun weekend! I love the quilts in progress.
Looks like all our water has moved up in your direction - good move buying up a hill - keep safe and dry!
Gosh, hope the flood water doesn't reach you. We're on a hill too, thank goodness, but there are lots of flooded roads and fields around us :-(
The blocks you're making are wonderful - can't wait to see the quilt! x
The colours of your quilt blocks are great. Floods are rotten, glad you are safe.
My Dad always said to live on a hill! We did that once and the house got struck by lightning!!
Oh well!!
I love your blocks! You put things together soooo well, Susie!
Your quilting looks great and what a delicious relaxing time with cherry. :)
Take care.

Oh no! Hope you stay dry - though it does sound like you're making the best of being trapped by the rain.
Hello, hope you're all safe and dry! It does sound like a good weekend, despite the awful weather. Nothing better than cuddling up with your children and playing games, even better if you can manage to do a bit of sewing as well. Take care

you have been a busy busy girl! Love all your creations........and what's wrong with your pajamas? Looks perfect to me.
love the sewing, hope you stay dry and safe. x
So reading all the other comments I realise it's just me whose eyes went doo-lally with looking at the first quilt block !!! I really love the second one though (please don't be upset by that - you know me well enough I hope!) We could have taken a similar photo - ours would have been Junior Scrabble though - although the wind and rain would have been pretty much the same!
Sounds like a wonderful sunday, with the little ones. Just love your work.
