The winner is French Knots. I am so thankful for all the lovely comments and I wish I could knit quick enough to send you all a calorie free cupcake, instead I want to thank you for actually taking time out of your day and leaving such lovely comments. I indeed had a wonderful summer and your good wishes made it perfect...I thank you!So we returned last night at 9.00pm and the children went to their beds very sleepy and slightly grubby...I then ran around like a mad women getting all their school stuff ready and unloading the bags from our time away. This morning we had tears (mostly from me) as the little ones went off to school after our seven weeks of 'full on' time together... we spent most of it by the beach and despite lots of rain we still managed to get a swim in most days either in the sea or the pool...our last week took us to the end of Britain for a camping trip, we had a lovely little spot in the woods and the kids really got back down to basics just playing with sticks and helping Mom cook beans on the fire ( a windy night for sure). So I am home and sadness fills my heart as I can clearly see the changes in the season... the leaves are dropping and there is a chill in the air...

Finished....
Oh thank you guys for the wonderful comments about my little ones picture (see previous post)...well as promised here is the end result... He adores it so much, I wrapped it up in colourful paper and gave it to him in the morning (having been up till 1.00am to finish it). 'Mommy that's my picture'...followed by 'Mommy you made this for me'...
I don't know who was happiest..him or me!!!
Now a few goodies have arrived in the post this week, amongst all those catalogues for children's toys!!! SO when I opened one to discover it was my giveaway win from a special blog friend at Wildcraft Farm, I was rather excited. I was not disappointed...its a card...well I like cards but, this one was special...see the lovely embroidery design on the front, well inside the card are the instructions and design sheet (full size) to make it up...what a great gift idea, you could send the card and if its a very special person you could buy them the threads and fabric to make it with. Now that's one great pressie do you not think? This lady is full of ideas like this...go check her out...

Little Pinkie has a new home...
This little critter in a china cup is getting quite excited...she has a new home. Earlier today I did the giveaway raffle... First I wrote down all the names on little triangles of pretty paper...
Folded them all up in to smaller triangles and put them in a little matching bowl...
The winner is...Julia from Vintage heaven
So Julia send me your home address and I will get Little Pinkie to you and the fat quarter...ENJOY and treat her well she likes company but she is a little shy!!! Thank you everyone else for joining me in the fun. The children kept picking names out so in their eyes I guess your all winners. Well on to the craft front: I am getting a few bits and pieces done...the tweed corsages are nearly finished...three are already off to new homes, so I guess I can not have done too bad a job on them...I played around with lots of buttons for the centre of the corsages, I settled on a matching handmade button, so whilst all the buttons lay all over the table and the button foot was on the sewing machine...
I thought I would do a little embellishing on my tank top...I have a few of these tank tops, I wear them under a crisp white man style shirt with jeans or a long skirt. So I thought I would add a bit of interest. I pinched the idea straight off the high street...I was in a shop earlier in the day and saw some on a sweater. I like mine better as I like all the different buttons and each button has a little bit of history and you know, you just can not buy that! If you look a little closer you will see I even sewed one of my labels in just for a bit of fun...
So I am slowly getting my Autumn groove going and the colours in my wardrobe are starting to reflect it...
Have a great weekend and I will catch up with you next week..Oh a nice pot of tea...Maybe I will get my Autumnal china set out...

And the winner is....
To be announced tomorrow...no I am not trying to tease you, I just want someone other than myself to draw out the winner so I shall have to wait until my babes are home from school!!!Posts have been a little infrequent of late as I try desperately to find my new rhythm and new role as a stay at home Mom who's just waved bye bye to her youngest as he goes through the big old school doors with a hesitant glance over his shoulder and a plee for 'Mommy come with me...' This is not helped by the fact that the small village school is going through some changes and one being no parents allowed to take their little ones into the class room...heart breaking for me I can tell you. So this last week I have wondered around the house in a pathetic state with no car to get out and about, mostly with tears in my eyes. Today is the first day I feel OK about the whole thing. SO when I am down I shop, usually fabric...check out the new fabric...it arrived two days after my order and with not one but two free fat quarters. I am so impressed I thought it deserved a mention as the owner of the shop was so nice to me and combined all my postage as well. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/SALS-FABRICS-AND-CRAFTS_W0QQsspagenameZMEQ3aFQ3aSTQQtZkm If you get yourself over there and are tempted to purchase please say hi to Sal from me. Her shop is http://salsfabrics.co.uk/
Mmmm now what goodies to make with it...
I have also noticed that the thrift and charity shops are now back to selling the wool sweaters so I have been doing a little felting and designing a new coat pin/corsage with tweed. I am sure I will share with you the outcome of both. So I have been in my sewing room a lot and I have started on the big clear out of toys so I can claim the whole room, the spare bedroom is going to be made into a den for the children, keeping me company throughout the day so I am not completely on my own has been my faithful bunny...Archie, he is such a poppet!!! He so enjoys the company. As for the piggies (Charlie and Lola) they are still fighting...I think I am getting somewhere though, I am having to give them lots of individual cuddles and they are now a lot calmer, but they are still nipping each other and sleeping at opposite ends of their house, this makes me very sad. Why the 'Super Boy' picture, well why not...indulge me as I am missing him like crazy...I thank you all for your lovely caring comments about him, we had a lovely day (except for the cough obviously) on Monday...Big cuddles all day and we even took a long nap together in the afternoon...the next day he was well enough to go into school...I was quite upset about this, not that I wanted him poorly, it took a lot for me to take him in, I thought...Oh just one more day. But that would have been wrong, right???
I will post the winner of 'Little Pinkie' tomorrow, she is very excited...she wants to take a trip round all your homes as you have made her feel very welcome!!!
