Show and Tell...

I can only apologise for my unintentional blog break... I lost my groove there for a while, the snowy days and blue skies changed into grey wet and generally damp January days, I missed the children and generally felt a bit like the weather... GREY!!!So in order to chase the 'greys' away I have been reconnecting with the creative need and finally getting some stuff done.  So I picked up my knitting bag and I got a little busy whilst curling up in the evenings with a glass of rich red wine, the fire on and clacked away my needles in time to my music...
As usual I am unable to stay faithful to one item of knitting, so in the knitting bag I have a few projects on the go, a beautiful easy knit sweater for my littlest one...
A little hat to match my RED winter coat...
and a completed hat, the same as mine but a little smaller, for a special little person...
Its always a good feeling when you complete something.
As my name suggested I am Suzie Sews, so with a birthday of one of my friends coming up and pennies being a little short after the Christmas madness I made my friend a gift, a totally useless but rather cute little fabric book and a matching pincushion in adorable Amy Butler and Moda Fabric...
My children and I are doing a little baking together after school, to get them started you just can not go wrong with pizza... so after binding the ingredients together...
we split up the dough and kneaded it for a good fifteen minutes...
We each choose our own toppings and then once cooked we sat down to enjoy the goodness of our efforts...
Comforting food to chase away the misery of the month...

On a personal note, I am sticking to new years resolutions and along with everyone else my looking after myself better in 2009 resolution is actually coming along quite well.  With my swimming two to three times a week, and walking to school I have just joined a Nia class, I was a little unsure it would suit me, a friend of mine was taking the class so along with a couple of other friends I went along, I have to say it was great fun and very addictive... if you like dance and yoga I would definitely suggest you give it ago, if your a little self conscious, stand at the back of you class until you feel comfortable.

Have a great weekend and once again I apologise for my little blog break, but as you can see, 'stuff' is getting done...

So much creativity! You reminded me how, when my kids were younger, homemade pizza was what we used to do on Friday afternoons. They loved it, and their friends loved coming over to make and eat it too. It was a great tradition for quite a long time - I think I may have to start it up again!

Wow! You have been busy for someone who has been grey. I'm still in the grey bit: the busy bit hasn't hit yet ;-) x

The blue sweater looks gorgeous - very soft and cosy. The little book and pincushion look like perfect presents.

January is a bit of a downer month -- we went to a gorgeous beach today to blow away some cobwebs. Your knitting looks great , I'm liking the orangey/yellow wool too.

I don't usually get the blues in January but they hit this year! I think cosying up at home making lovely things is the perfect antidote :-)

Your knitting projects all look lovely and I love that little pincushion!

Hello and a belated Happy New Year to you and your gorgeous boys. You're not alone in feeling that January has been dragging you down, it has been a very grey month over here too. I have decided to continue with the blogging as it does help me to appreciate the sunshine in whatever shape or form it takes. Take care, I love your knitting!

Winter is a great time for semi-hibernation and just digging down into things of enjoyment...like knitting, sewing and great cooking. A delicious post, Suzie! No apologies for feeling low...I hope days with your children and creativity help. :o) These winter months, post-Christmas, of January thru March are not easy months I find either. Do what you need for you to lift up again. Happy Days to you all ((HUGS))

We all need breaks and I guess to recharge our creative side. It seems like you have found your groove back!

I wonder if it is something to do with the weather, as I've been very creaetive this week too!

Hello. I can't remember if I've said hello here before or not, as I am prone to forgetfulness! I'm Sadie, British a mum to a gorgeous little girl (not that I am biased at all!) and a crafty mama, in the nicest sense of the word!

I love your fabric stash, and isn't there something just scrumptious about a jar filled with haberdashery goodies, and new spools of cotton?

Anyway, must dash. The aforementioned little girl needs attention, so I must tend to her.

Have a lovely evening, knitting away. It's grey and rainy here in East Anglia, if I could knit I would do so, but I'll work on my tapestry instead.

Don't know about you, but we've actually had blue skies today - yippee! hope you had some too to take away the grey feeling. I even got into the garden to plant some rhubarb! Now freezing cold, so time to sit in front of the fire with some knitting!
