Its that time of year...

Is it really a year since the pressure washer came out? As I work I think of summer BBQ's, generally eating outside, a little crafting going on with the children on the patio and playing in the sand not to mention the splashing in the pool. The children race out each morning to see if their sunflower seeds have grown any bigger and last night my little one and I planted a whole heap of summer veg, my little guy has a sudden interest in all things gardening!!!
-
The last couple of days we have been scrubbing, cleaning, mowing, digging and planting...
-
Slowly the garden is coming back to life and getting away from the drabness of the winter, at present its a mess, but its a work in progress and soon, very soon, we will be able to enjoy the delights of outdoor living...As long as the rain keeps off that is!!!

Yes everything is wakening up like Sleeping Beauty down here too - this gorgeous summery weather can continue until November for me - mind you it is a bit hot for DD1 revising for her GCSEs

Isn't the weather glorious! We don't have a patio to pressure wash, we had some builders give us a quote this week - eeeek! How can something so small cost so much?? Needless to say it's been added to the long list of "maybe next year" jobs!

We have very little garden space for growing stuff, but i just cannot help myself - I have an uncontollable urge to plant and see things grow - so far we have lettuces, peppers, potatoes, mint, cress and morning glory flowers - not bad for a garden that I wasn't going to plant anything in because we are still hoping to move!!!
Glad your youngest is into the gardening thing - as you know I believe it's vital for smallies to connect with the great outdoors!

Hi Suz,
Lovely to read about your 'outdoorsy' pursuits :). The house here had marrows and pumpkins growing when we arrived and the kids were sooo thrilled about them! We've had to share a few with the wallabies and possum who visit the garden each night, but the kids seem to get as much satisfaction inspecting the toothmarks!! Hugs to all, katexx

It's wonderful in the garden at the moment. Although there's loads to do in the way of weeding etc, it still looks good because everything's so fresh and green.
I think it's great that your little one is involved and interested in growing things.
