Giveaway winner is....

The winner of the Autumn Break Giveaway is...The lovely Beverly who pens the beautiful Blog, Tea Time and Roses.  Well done Beverly, if you email direct with your address I will pop them in the post to you.
So I mentioned in my holiday post that I wanted to share with you a little shop I found whilst away.  I took a couple of snaps so I could share with you the interior and you too can go Ahhhh and Ohhhh.
I actually spent most of my holiday pennies in this shop, even my babes enjoyed poking around the shop.  The really good thing was you could browse without interruption, you know what its like, you go into a lovely shop and you feel eyes on you and just do not feel comfortable enough to shop... which is what your there for! Not here you could browse and shop away...
The funny thing about this shop is I have been to the town previously on other weekends away and gone into the building but had no idea that this haven was there.  Its in the beautiful Yorkshire Market town of Pickering, just a short walk away from our cottage, its actually a Newsagents shop.  I nipped in hopping the 'now available on  the high street' Yarn Forward Magazine would be sold here...
When I was looking around a door caught my eye with a lovely wreath on it...so I ventured through the door and found all this loveliness... Its a great little shop and with an Internet shop too I feel I will never struggle to buy gifts either for my friends or myself...Go check it out and say Hi from me... Made And Found Market Place, Pickering.

So just a quick post today, off to my knitting group and I also need to take my photo for Kitchen Poetry which is being hosted by the lovely Simple Sparrow...I am running mine through my Suzie Sews Flickr account.

Autumn Break Giveaway...

Its coming up to Autumn Break, the babes and I are  planning some time together so we can really appreciate the riches on offer at this time of year.   Walks in the wood with all the beautiful orange shades in the trees, we will be pulling our wellies on and going for a splash in the sea.  The craft box is all ready with lots of creative goodness to keep us occupied if we need to hunker down in front of the fire if... when... the weather changes.  Who knows we may even see some bats flying from the trees.  We love bats here, we even have a few that lap around the house as the evening light draws in.

You can imagine my delight when I was over at the lovely Queen of the Froggers blog and spied here latest creation...I had to get my hands on that there pattern;-)
The pattern comes from the wonderful knitting designer over at Mochimochiland, you must go and check the work out, not so sure about the the munching snake though, mind you I bet the children would love it!!!
The needles got clicking...as you can guess, the children adore their new Batty friends and they have lots of adventures planned for them next week...they fit so perfectly into their hands and its great for the wee babe to get to grips with doing the button to open up the bat wings...'Looking Mommy he is flying'...
So following on from my last post I thank you so much for your precious words, they mean a lot. Its a good time I think to take a break, just over a week, to spend time with my own little family. My camera, knitting and some sewing are all on the list of things to do so I am sure I will have lots to report on.  I am planning a trip to the city as I have some craft related books I am after, so lots of ideas will be getting logged in the notebook for the wintery months ahead...
So I leave you with a little giveaway, a few 'Suzie Sews' handmade goodies...a sturdy pin- cushion, Yoyo and vintage button hair pin, a little corsage to wear on your winter coat to cheer up a grey day and a few fabric badges (using moda, vintage Laura Ashsley and sweet owls fabric)...
So if you fancy being in with a chance of the postman bringing these to your door one cold morning to cheer you up, please just leave a message on this post and on my return I will pick the winner...I wish you a very happy week...

Summer giveaway...

As promised..the summertime giveaway, you know what to do...leave a comment on this post and you will be in the draw...(knitted cup cake, hair clip and gingham button pegs)...How can that be...only two weeks left of the summer holidays...well I plan to make the most of every moment with my guys..so I will be off line and as soon as I return I will pick the winner...
So its been a holiday made up of special moments with special people...we have been away a lot, as much BEACH TIME as we can manage and a few days out to various places.  Eating outdoors has been a major part of our holiday time with picnics and BBQs...you just can't beat eating outdoors, especially with children, less mess to clear up and they eat so much more and food they would not normally eat...
Water is a big feature of our time out and about, from the wild sea to the calmness of the canals...
and why does Hot Chocolate always taste so good when your all sandy and curled up after a chilly dip in the sea?
For some reason when I look at my summer photos there are so many pictures of daisy's, I think they sum up our time together, simple, sweet and a wonderful symbol of summer time fun...

Summer has been all about knitting socks...addictive!  Lots of plans for new sewing designs and makes are all ready to be put in to action come September but, for now I am enjoying as much 'play time" with my children...We have a cool camping trip planned, to spend a week body boarding...the camper van needs a good clean out as we have not made the use of her this season, we have new body boards so there is no stopping us...unless it rains...Ahhhh camping in the rain!!!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comments made on my last post, what can I say...you guys are the best!

Wishing you a healthy and happy couple of weeks and may you be blessed with good weather...

Birthday giveaway winner is...

Thanks so much guys for leaving so many thoughtful Birthday wishes...I can assure you it was a great birthday, despite all the issues that I usually carry around with me on my birthday (see last years birthday post). This was a great way to celebrate...I have just had so much fun over the last two weeks...the highlight being a surprise night out, well I thought I was going out for a pizza...only the taxi was a limo and it did not take me to the pizza place but to a restaurant. When it pulled up and the door was opened for me and my glass of champagne was taken from me...I got all giddy when I saw some of my special friends in the window with big cheesy smiles on their faces... Yep...I had been got! You know I can not tell you much about the night as I was just too giddy to take it all in...OK maybe the bubbly had something to do with it. It was very special for me to share my birthday with so many lovely people, how blessed I am to have such special, wonderful and caring friends...There was me feeling all sorry for myself that no one cared...Ha who feels silly now? That would be ME!!!

The reason for no blogging this past week is I took the children off school and we went for a whole week by the beach...we packed up our wet suits and body boards, lots of towels and pic nic goodies and headed for the surf...in reality it actually rained quite a few days, but we would hide under a beach hut for shelter and eat ice cream. Anyway lots of photos to go through and a huge amount of knitting took place in the evenings when the children had gone to sleep and I would pour a glass of chilled wine and curl up on the sun lounger on my balcony and watch the waves whilst the sun went down...Oh bliss...For now though its time to return to reality, unpack and sort all the 'stuff' out. Then its on with living the 'Suzie Sews' life a year older and wiser with some very special memories!!!

As for the giveaway I am so pleased to announce the winner is the lovely Louise from Home is Where the Heart is...drop me an email with your address Louise and I will send out the goodies as soon as possible. Once again I thank you all for your lovely wishes it made my birthday even more special and I thank you for that...
